Roberto Bolaño Ávalos fue un escritor y poeta chileno que trabajó principalmente en México y Europa, autor de más de dos decenas de libros, entre los cuales destacan sus novelas Los detectives salvajes, ganadora del Premio Herralde en 1998 y el Premio Rómulo Gallegos en 1999, y la póstuma 2666.
