Pina Bausch, eigentlich Philippine Bausch, war eine deutsche Tänzerin, Choreografin, Tanzpädagogin und Ballettdirektorin des nach ihr benannten Tanztheaters in Wuppertal. In den 1970er-Jahren wurde Pina Bausch mit ihrer Entwicklung des Tanztheaters zu einer Kultfigur der internationalen Tanzszene. Sie galt in der Fachwelt als die bedeutendste Choreografin ihrer Zeit.
