Nelson Garrido fue un fotógrafo y artista visual venezolano. En 1991 se convirtió en el primer fotógrafo venezolano distinguido con el Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas. Fue fundador de la Organización Nelson Garrido, conocida como La ONG, escuela de fotografía y centro cultural alternativo con sede en Caracas. Su obra desarrolla un lenguaje iconográfico que combina religión, erotismo, humor e imaginería popular, y aborda de manera recurrente la violencia social venezolana.
