Lothar-Günther Buchheim war ein deutscher Maler, Fotograf, Verleger, Kunstbuch- und Romanautor, Filmemacher, Sammler und Gründer des Buchheim-Museums der Phantasie in Bernried am Starnberger See. Bekannt ist er vielen als Autor des Romans Das Boot, dessen gleichnamige Verfilmung zu einem großen internationalen Erfolg wurde.
