Lydia Valeryanovna Axionova was a Soviet and Moldovan conductor, music teacher, choral theorist, music writer, the first professor of choral conducting in Moldova, the first female symphony orchestra conductor in the Republic, and an Honoured Artist of the Moldavian SSR.
