Javier Beristain Iturbide fue un economista, académico, funcionario público y directivo financiero mexicano. Fue rector del Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) de 1972 a 1991, secretario de Planeación y Finanzas del Departamento del Distrito Federal entre 1991 y 1997, y director general de Afore XXI de 1998 a 2008.
