Hanafy Bastan was an Egyptian footballer who played as a defender for Zamalek and the Egypt national team. He represented his country in the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics. Bastan played for Egypt in the 1953 Arab Games, where Egypt won the gold medal. He was also a part of the team that won the gold medal in the 1955 Mediterranean Games. He was the captain of the team that won the 1957 African Cup of Nations, he is the first Egyptian player to lift the African trophy.
