On the night of October 23, 1989, 30-year-old Carol Ann Stuart was shot by her husband, Charles Michael "Chuck" Stuart Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.; she died in the early hours of October 24. Charles Stuart falsely claimed that a black man had shot both him and Carol after a carjacking.
