Baruj Benacerraf Lasry fue un médico, biólogo e inmunólogo venezolano de renombre internacional, que ganó junto con Jean Dausset y George D. Snell, el Premio Nobel de Fisiología o Medicina en 1980 por sus descubrimientos acerca de las estructuras de la superficie celular determinadas genéticamente, que regulan las reacciones inmunológicas. En el año 1998 publicó su autobiografía titulada From Caracas to Stockholm: A Life in Medical Science.
