Modesta Apolonia Dorregaray Veli fue una artista tradicional peruana, cultora del mate burilado de Junín. Es conocida como la "artista de mates del Valle de Mantaro" reconocimiento otorgado por José María Arguedas. Por su destacada labor recibió el Premio de Honor del Encuentro Inkari realizado en el Callao en 1973 y el Premio Nacional Gran Maestro de la Artesanía Peruana en 1995.
